Our Course Guarantee to You

Unlike other course providers who cancel their courses at the last minute due to insufficient numbers (Usually 12 people), if we have a course scheduled it will run even if it's one to one so you can book with us knowing only acts of Natural Disaster will prevent us from running your course on your chosen date. We also guarantee  your group will be small, no more than six people to maximize your learning experience and enjoyment.

Canine First Responder© Orientation Session (Taster)

CFR Logo
Would you like to attend a Canine First Responder Course but not sure? Then come along to one of our taster sessions where you can meet the Instructors, have a play with our state of the art training aids and learn the first three of the essential skills of primary care.

The taster sessions typically last one to one and a half hours and you will be given credit for anything learnt on the taster session towards the full course. This means anything you learn on the taster will not have to be repeated when you come back for the course. We will also deduct the cost of the orientation off the full course price when you sign up for the full course. Why not get a group of friends together and come as a group to see what is involved in learning these vital skills to help your dog/s in an emergency (maximum 6 people per Orientation session).

This is not a certificated course only an orientation to the certificated course. Certification is only gained after successful attendance of a full Canine First Responder Course.

Paediatric

EFR Care for Children course
The Paediatric course is an innovative CPR, AED and First Aid training course that teaches participants how to provide emergency care for injured or ill children (ages one to eight) and infants less than one year old. Participants learn about the types of medical emergencies that children face, and how they differ from adult conditions. The curriculum also includes the importance of attending to basic emergency situations with children, the emotional aspects of caring for children, secondary care for children, and preventing common injuries and illnesses in children.

The Paediatric course trains the lay rescuer to follow the same priorities of care used by medical professionals. The student masters the priorities and the procedures of patient care for infants and children in a non-stressful learning environment, which reduces the performance anxieties that interfere with learning and enhances confidence when rendering aid in a real medical emergency. The course includes both primary care (CPR) and secondary care (first aid) skills.

The primary care portion of the course prepares the rescuer to render aid to an infant or child with a life-threatening emergency such as choking or cardiac arrest. Secondary care focuses on developing secondary patient care skills and building the rescuer's confidence to render first aid to an infant or child in need when emergency medical services are either delayed or unavailable. The Care for Children course content is based on guidelines from the Paediatric Working Group of ILCOR.

During this course you'll review the basic principles of Primary Care (CPR) and learn how to deploy and use an AED in an emergency situation.

Manual Handling

EFR Manual handling course
_The Manual Handling course is intended to provide you with an understanding of how to safely handle loads. It covers practical aspects of lifting, lowering, carrying, pushing and pulling loads. It also provides information on the human spinal system, risk assessment, the legal responsibility of employers to their employees and techniques for the prevention of accidents.
The course involves knowledge development, and a series of practical exercises, followed by scenarios that allow you to put your skills into practice. We will have an even balance between knowledge development and practical exercises. I will make your training relevant to your current employment or circumstances throughout the course.More than a third of all over three day injuries reported each year to the Health & Safety Executive and local Authorities are caused by manual handling ‘the transporting or supporting of loads by hand or by bodily force’. Most of the reported accidents caused by back injury, though hands, arms and feet are also vulnerable. In 1995, an estimated average of 11 working days per sufferer was lost through musculoskeletal disorders affecting the back, caused by work.
