I met Mike while conducting his First Aid at Work Instructor Course in 2007, I found Mike to be a really natural instructor and I would say his strongest attribute was his very unique way of relating information to each person he is working with, this makes it easy for everyone to understand what it is they can and should do should that "Emergency" situation arise. It was a true privilege for me to work with Mike during his course. I always say that every time I conduct a course I learn more and more myself, well lets say "that with Mike I got equal back for what I put in"

The best way I can describe Mike’s teaching ability is like a sponge… his ability to absorb information & then impart knowledge in a teaching role is exceptional! A quote to explain would be one of Winston Churchill's "I am always willing to learn, however I do not always like to be taught" - Any course you do with Mike at no time will it feel like you are being taught, you will leave having had a lot of fun, made some new friends and most importantly with a thorough understanding of the subject. If it came to it, I am sure you would feel comfortable/competent administering your first aid skills to another. I am just glad that you have seen this testimonial and thinking of getting your training from Mike and his First Aid Company.

Thanks Mike, for very interesting first aid course. I personally found it very good because we got to watch demonstrations and also join in on some of them which, being a kinaesthetic learner helped me a lot. My brother William found the experience very enthralling as he got to pose as a casualty for some of the activities were we had to check for injuries or breathing difficulties; being checked for injuries he found hysterical as he is very ticklish. I think in these two days we learnt a lot and come to a real life situation would be very willing to lend a helping hand. I highly recommend that you use Mike for the first aid course as he makes it one to remember. Thanks again much appreciated.

When looking for a supplier for our First Aid Training needs, ‘MJ First Aid Training’ stood out from the pack in terms of providing a flexible service to suit our business needs and size. Their brochure was simple to understand and the price very competitive.

The course itself was delivered in a relaxed manner and atmosphere which made it most enjoyable.

I would highly recommend MJ First Aid Training to anyone requiring bespoke and professional First Aid Training.

Well done to Victoria, Janice, Gaynor, Kimberley and Petra on passing the CFC Course. I have to say girls, it was one of the most fun courses I have ever run. Especially the final Scenarios, the less said the better, Gaynor & Janice!!!

Hi Mike long time no see!! As you know we are a group of gorgeous nursery nurses who were devastated at the thought of doing our first aid course yet again. Then you walked through the door, and we were right to be worried [only joking!!] Just wondering, was Steven Martin busy on our dates, mind you we may have eaten him alive!!!!

I suppose we should be serious for a while and explain how you made the course enjoyable and interesting. Your format of teaching is excellent and we felt that you understood our needs and catered for them, an example of this was the way you looked at our individual weaknesses and tailored our scenarios to suit.

You also didn't stand and lecture to us but made the course as entertaining as possible considering the seriousness of it. We feel you offer a very `hands on` approach to practical skills particularly when dealing with the AED and this will benefit us greatly!

We will not hesitate to recommend you to others requiring First Aid Training.

Here's hoping Mike that you won't forget us for a while, Janice, Gaynor, Kim, Vicki and Petra

P.S You don't need to spell check this Mike, we've already done it!!!

I completed my EFR Instructor course with Steve, a great trainer that knows exactly how to put the information and knowledge across without totally blowing your mind, it’s exact and precise teaching.

The course was conducted in a totally stress free environment with a laugh a minute, I got everything I needed from the course and do feel confident to teach now as I feel comfortable with what I have learned. this is all an honest opinion and not just tailored for his page Steve is a truly great guy and comes highly recommended not only on a instructor trainer level, but recreational level to. Thanks Steve for a great and memorable course.

What a really fantastic fabulous course! I have to admit that I have never been on a First Aid course before, mainly based on my fear that if I was trained I wouldn’t be able to use these skills in an emergency! (Maybe you can understand what I mean, all that blood, and what if I fail and someone dies, would it be my fault?) But what a confidence building genius Mike is! I will never feel that way again. When I got the course notes, I thought, that looks daunting and we will never get through all of that material in one weekend. Well, we did! AND…! it was one of the most enjoyable courses I have ever been on. I don't ever want to see a dog in physical distress, but now, if I did, I feel confident enough to deal with the situation competently. Jeremy Tanner, Dog Behaviourist.

WOW WHAT A FANTASTIC WEEKEND!  THANK YOU SO MUCH MIKE.
I cannot recommend this course and Mike highly enough. The man is not only a wonderful person but an amazing teacher. Never once did I feel stupid, no matter what questions I asked :-))
I now feel totally empowered, I would not hesitate to help a dog in distress and am looking forward to teaching others and would be chuffed if I only did half as well as Mike in his inspiration and pure generosity of spirit. It backs up positive reinforcement 100%

THANK YOU MIKE

Fee (Fiona Parker) Canine Behaviour Analyst.

Just surfaced after a very long sleep. Exhausted following one of the most enjoyable and productive weekends I have ever spent. Thank you all: Fee, Mike and Jeremy for your excellent company and making it such a special experience for me…

As to the course: The material is extremely comprehensive. My best advice is to, (Unlike me!) read the material and complete the knowledge tests at least once.

As to the training: You couldn’t wish for better. I have spent most of my life working in a training environment and Mike knocked my best efforts into the proverbial “Cocked hat”!

Very relaxed and creates an environment to match.

Very positive, all mistakes were made to feel like learning steps.

Completely at ease with the materials even though these where the first of these courses.

He has an enormous breadth of knowledge and we are SO fortunate to have access to his experiences.

But most of all he is one of the nicest, most genuine people I’ve ever had the good fortune to meet— so genuine in fact, that the foregoing would embarrass him very much…… so don’t tell him ….. OK !

Very Sincerely

Michael Hayes (Canine Behaviourist)

Congratulations to Angie Ingman, Bev Ward and Jaquie Stafford for completing the Canine First Responder Course. It was a great deal of fun and a laugh a minute. The Nottingham area now has three new Canine First Responders.

Hi Mike.

Thanks for the course today.... I really enjoyed it. Having done 'human' first aid it was still very useful doing this course and I have already confirmed the pulse in my two at home and they are alive!!!!! Really easy to find the pulse actually! I really will need a trailer soon though for my 'extended first aid kit'. Seriously though with a few additions I can easily accommodate dogs into my 1st aid kit in the car and now feel confident to do the same for human and canine alike. Excellent ….. Conifidence is the key and you gave us that.

Thanks ……..

Can’t wait for the Instructors Course now !!

I attended the Canine Responder course, followed by the Canine First Responder Instructor course last weekend. Our Trainer was Mike Jones.

This course is a must for anyone working or living with Dogs, If you have ever wondered what you would do if you or someone else’s dog was injured, then this is for you

I had my doubts whether I could do this, having had no first Aid experience but Mike is such a fantastic teacher with such a wealth of knowledge.

Mike made this course highly enjoyable, he taught in a calm, easy to follow manner with lots of opportunities to ask questions, never hurrying you to learn or making you feel stupid for asking questions.

I have come away being very glad that I took this valuable gift, knowing that I can now safely help an injured or sick animal in an emergency

I can highly recommend this course

Thanks Mike

Hi everyone

Just wanted to say how pleasant a weekend I just had with Mike, who is such a credit both to the INTO Dogs association and also to EFR as well. He is a lovely man who would not accept a penny toward his travel costs and managed to teach me Canine First Aid and INTO Dogs Instructor training despite my nerves! He put up with the constant interruptions in my household and my gaggle of mutts and he even came out on quick walks with us!!

Any of you who have not done the course then I highly recommend it and I have participants lined up to do courses with me already! Thank you Mike, you are a star!!

I found this course informative and fun. The course was very interesting but combined studying with practical work which made learning easier. I was shocked to discover what I had actually learned in such a short space of time. The instructors were open to comments and questions and created a great learning environment. This course has opened doors for me and for that I am grateful. I would recommend it anyone and everyone.

On the course ...I would recommend this course because of the learning style. It combines learning with putting it into practice so you don't even realise you are learning. I learned above what I thought I would as this course offers info on secondary first aid care as well as primary which makes it different from others out there. This course will be used in my future business plans and so I would definitely recommend it to others working with animals whether it be a dog walker to vet nurse.

On the provider ...MJ First aid training were in constant contact before and after the course from answering questions to providing materials etc. The approach was great. It would suit people with all different ways of learning. The Instructors were open to questions comments and feed back which made it a comfortable learning environment.

What I liked most...I liked the way the material was put into practice at every opportunity this made me learn points I didn't even realise I was learning. I shocked myself at how quickly I learned new things.

What I liked least ...That the weekend went too quickly I enjoyed it so much the weekend flew by and before I knew it I was all done :)
