M J First Aid Training

Meet The Staff

Barney the 4 year old Labrador, complete head case so he fits in well as the company mascot. He loves nothing more than to head out into the mountains and wear us all out. He can perform CPR. Usually at around 02:00 when the killer sheep on the Mountain are about to storm the tent !!! Then you get two front paws perfectly placed with 30kilos of dog bouncing up and down with pin point accuracy.

Mike Jones. Chief Instructor. First started teaching First Aid and CPR after qualifying as an Instructor In the good old US of A in 1998 and hasn’t looked back since. Mike is also a PADI Master Instructor but now concentrates on the EFR stuff. He has worked in the construction Industry for 28 years with periods away to do other things.

Mike also works in the canine field clicker training owners so they will do what their dog’s tell them to do and also as a canine behaviour analyst.  He is a member of INTO Dog’s, an Associate Member of the Animal Care College and a Marine Mammal Medic.

Darren Jones. Business Development Manager and all round computer genius. He’s the one behind all the technical wizardry on the web site which, quite frankly wouldn’t have happened with out him.  Darren has also worked in the construction industry but left for a career in IT and the Weighing industry . Darren passed his EFR Instructor Course In February. Congratulations!

Stephen Martin. Course Director and EFR Instructor Trainer

Steve has been working with Instructor Development for seven years and doesn’t just train you to pass exams. He brings out the best in all Instructor Candidates and prepares them for going out to teach in the real world. His expertise also shows through in the project management of new business and his marketing ideas are some of the best I’ve heard. We are pleased to have him on board as our course Director.

Andy Purkis. Senior Staff Instructor.  He’s the one with the most hair out of all of us. Andy has a degree in educational studies and as well as being a PADI IDC Staff Instructor he also works in the Transport and Logistics Industry. Andy and I did our EFR Instructor courses together in March of 2003 not long after the introduction of the EFR program in late 2002 seeing the potential in the course programs and how they could be applied.

Dean Jones. Actually, he’s probably the one with the most hair out of all of us. Dean works in the motor Industry as a paint and body shop technician but has probably spent more time in the classroom than anyone else. He used to sit in on all the courses I have taught and has played the patient more than once. He has now joined us as an Associate Staff Instructor.
